Personal injury claims related to last month’s ceiling collapse at London’s Apollo Theatre could top £1 million, experts say.

The historic West End venue made national headlines when 79 audience members were injured during the incident on December 19, which occurred during a production of the acclaimed stage show The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

Theatre insurance specialist Andy Rudge, who represents a leading entertainment insurance firm, suggests each claim could cost a minimum of between £5,000 and £10,000. This figure could increase still further if, as predicted, some victims need to make a serious injury claim.

Mr Rudge also indicated that more complicated claims could take over a year to reach a settlement.

This is in part due to Westminster Council’s ongoing study of the incident, which will determine who should be held liable and may not reach a conclusion for several months. Consequently, those wishing to make a claim will need to wait for the outcome of this investigation before they can proceed.

Making a personal injury claim

The Apollo Theatre ceiling collapse is clearly a highly unusual case, but the personal injury claims surrounding the case will be dealt with in much the same way as the more common incidents solicitors are presented with.

If you are looking to make a successful claim, you will need to show that the incident was someone else’s fault. This information is key, and without it, you are unlikely to receive any compensation.

Sheldon Davidson Solicitors are very experienced in a range of personal injury cases, including everything from raid traffic accident claims to medical negligence claims, and we work hard to ensure that you receive the compensation you deserve.

We also strive to ensure your wellbeing is looked after throughout the claims process. As this case shows, claims can sometimes take a while to conclude, and during that time you may require medical treatment or ongoing physiotherapy. Our team of experienced Manchester personal injury lawyers will ensure you receive this, and any costs will be factored into your compensation amount.

We may even be able to take your claim on a no-win, no fee basis, so contact us today and see if we can help you get compensation for your personal injury.
